“Cedar” Peter has been in the lumber industry for many years and appreciates the strong friendships and valued business partners he has established along the way. He has a wife, two daughters and a grandson. Peter’s passions include spending time outdoors and on the ocean with his family.
Although new to Doubletree, Chris brings a decade of experience from the retail lumber and building supply industry. Chris is a quick learner and eager to establish himself in the softwood lumber industry; promising to listen and learn from customers and mills alike. Chris enjoys spending his free time playing drop-in hockey and poker with his friends and colleagues. On most Sundays, you can find Chris watching NFL football, as his love of sports dates back to a childhood of playing lacrosse, hockey and football. Chris attributes his winning attitude and professionalism from hard fought lessons that only an arena or a field can provide. GO BELLIES!
Kristina has recently returned to Doubletree after maternity leave. She primarily assists her father John with the day-to-day, but she also helps out with many other aspects of running the office at Doubletree. Kristina relishes her role, as well as enjoying art, fashion design and being a Mom.
Thomas joined Doubletree after graduating from UBC Wood Products Processing in 2019. He represents the third generation in a family tradition of lumbermen. Based on his lumber sales experience in Korea, he is primarily focusing on the export market. He is willing to take on challenges wherever he finds opportunities. Thomas enjoys golfing and playing e-sports in his spare time.
A Partner in Doubletree, Jeff is a second generation lumberman with 40 plus years of industry experience.. His early career in the building supply industry dealing one on one with builders and developers helped him form a keen understanding of the importance of supplying quality materials from dependable sources. His industry knowledge and experience allow Jeff to professionally market a wide array of Specialty Forest Products. As well as Trading lumber with his old and new friends, Jeff manages the Roof Decking program. In his spare time he enjoys teeing it up on the local links, hot yoga and occasionally getting to the gym. Jeff and his wife Sandra have been married over 35 years and have two daughters.
Mark cut his teeth on a 2x4 and now brings over 40 years of experience to the table. Mark has been with Doubletree since 1997 and is now one of the five Partners. During his time at Doubletree, Mark manages our Wynndel board program. Mark enjoys golf and fishing and played lacrosse for 19 years – mostly with the New Westminster fish guys.
Starting his career at Doubletree in the early 2000s, first as an assistant to Mark, Shawn has been in the lumber industry for close to 30 years. As of May 2017, he is now a Partner, along with four other long-term traders at Doubletree. In his spare time, he is usually busy coaching his son’s baseball team and daughter’s soccer team. He also enjoys camping, fishing, and following the Seahawks and Blue Jays. Go Hawks!
Mike started with Doubletree in the summer of 2018. With some lumber experience, driving the 2-ton truck for the local Whistler lumber yard, Mike is a veteran in sales and customer service with almost 30 years of experience. Mike likes golf, snowmobiling, snowboarding and long walks on the beach!
After a four-year absence, John returned in 2015 bringing his years of service with Doubletree to seven. In May 2015, he and four other long-term traders formed a partnership and are now the proud owners of Doubletree Forest Products Ltd. With thirty plus years of experience in the lumber industry, John has a wealth of knowledge in marketing softwoods in all grades and sizes, with an emphasis on Western Red Cedar products.
Shane has always enjoyed being a part of the wholesale building materials industry. He began his career in 1996 and has always had a willingness to learn something new every day. He is not afraid to get his hands dirty, go the extra mile and chase down that elusive specialty item. He engages in all aspects of the wood business, with a primary focus on quality products. In his leisure, he enjoys camping, fishing, golfing, travelling, and watching a good football or hockey game on TV. In May 2017, Shane along with four other long-term Doubletree traders, successfully completed the purchase of Doubletree Forest Products.
Gord joined Doubletree in the fall of 2015, with 35 plus years of experience in the lumber industry. Gord is married with three children and five grandchildren. He is an avid slo-pitch player and enjoys golf in his spare time. Gord would be happy to hear from you with any inquiry.
Hayden has been with Doubletree since early 2014; working his way through our transportation department and learning the business from the ground floor. Today, Hayden is one of our most valued traders at Doubletree, as his expanding knowledge allows him to cover all species of softwood lumber. When he is not watching football or hanging out with friends and family, you will most likely find him on the banks of the Fraser River – pulling in a big Salmon – or cruising on his motorcycle.
Todd joined Doubletree at the beginning of March 2018. Todd brings 9 years of forklift and machinery experience, along with a drive to constantly learn more, so you won’t find him sitting still for too long. When he’s not out running the distribution yard, you will find him spending time with his wife, newborn baby girl and their two dogs out in the backwoods of beautiful, BC. Craft beer, working on his cars, and saltwater aquariums are just a few of his hobbies.
When Sharon started with Doubletree in 2015, her primary focus was looking after all accounting functions. Through her hard work and dedication to the business, she was promoted to Operations Manager in 2018. Sharon is a strong member of our team and can be relied on at all times. In her spare time, she enjoys nature, walking and spending time with family and friends.
Kathy started with Doubletree in the summer of 2016. She brought her many years of experience in the softwood industry, as an inventory specialist, and now her talents are focused on trucking/logistics. Kathy enjoys travel, spending time with family and friends, and especially playing with her grandchildren at her cabin in Tulameen.
